After two failed attempts I finally managed to capture this impressive sunset above Kos town, the capital of the island. These shots are always a challenge as they require extended research and preparation and a great deal of luck. My first attempt was not successful because few clouds were obstructing my field of view. At the second attempt the sky was clear, actually clearer than it should have been! The excess brightness of the Sun burned the photo. This is the third successful attempt. Everything went perfect! The sky was clear of clouds but at the same time the ideal(!) amount of haze filtered out the Sun's brightness, resulting to this image. For a similar photo with the famous Temple of Poseidon at Sounio, I was trying for nearly five years.
