Agiou Andrea Russian Skite is the most representative example of the Russian monasticism at the beginning of the 20th century. It lies in a small distance from the administrative center of Mount Athos, Karyes. It is also called Seragi, from the words 'Sei-rai' which means paradise for the Russians. It belongs to Vatopedi monastery. This High Dynamic Range startrail photo displays one of the impressive buildings from inside the complex. The wealth and magnificence that characterizes the Russian Skite is exactly the opposite from the sense of humility and simplicity that represents the life in Mount Athos.
