Agiou Andrea Russian Skite is the most representative example of the Russian monasticism at the beginning of the 20th century. It lies in a small distance from the administrative center of Mount Athos, Karyes. It is also called Seragi, from the words 'Sei-rai' which means paradise for the Russians. It belongs to Vatopedi monastery. The huge bells is only a small example of the exaggeration, wealth and magnificence that characterizes the Russian Skite which is exactly the opposite from the sense of humility and simplicity that represents the life in Mount Athos.
